I always say to people: everything is interconnected. How?, they ask.
You want a bustling, healthy community. You want vibrancy, excitement. Well, every decision the community makes can attract or repel businesses, and businesses bring jobs. Tech, finance, and professional services breed high wages, and high wages support area merchants.
You want more options? You want to know your shop-keeper? Know someone is looking out for you? Vote with your dollars.
My friend Lesley, who owns The Pink Petticoat, once told me that her best customers will see things at Neiman Marcus and come to her to order them, just to support her. Because they like her.
I’m lucky to enjoy close relationships with many area small business owners. For whatever reason, I am a rabid “local” cheerleader.
Hopefully that is apparent by reading this blog. I do my share of global online shopping, but it’s the locals that make life worthwhile in Tampa.
This Thanksgiving, on the Saturday following black friday, I will be helping host a Shop Local event at Jux-ta-pose apparel & studio in Hyde Park Village.
Come see us. Enjoy the (hopefully) superior weather. Check out what the Wesley sisters have to offer, and if you need, let me help you decide what to get for yourself, or someone else. We’re calling it “Gift Giving 101.”
In addition to women’s clothing and accessories, Jux-ta-pose also carries housewares, decor, furniture, and little luxuries for your holiday list.
Event is Saturday, November 29th, from 10am to 2pm. Hyde Park Village.
