I’ve been trying to find simple, cheap solutions to satiate my stuff addiction. It’s not easy – I do have rich taste, after all – but it can be done. Cases in point:
Gap puffer vest – $35 (on sale). Great for the 45-65 temperature range, depending on the thickness of your skin!
I don’t think this picture does it justice – it looks much slimmer in person and is definitely more streamlined than puffers of the past.
Ikea bedlinens – on sale $8. I had a bright, cheery white-based set of linens that were very summery. To transition to winter, a darker hue is pretty and fun, and feels more cozy with the cool temperatures!
I’m an avid ironing-hater and my simple solution is a steam cleaner. Macy’s – $40.
Underrated ambiance lifter (although not cheap – oops!): home aquarium!
Maybe I’m a Florida dork, but I love watching fish swim around in a colorful, wet environment. My friend Lucas has a nice-sized one in his condo and I loved sitting next to it this weekend, watching the fish and enjoying the pale blue backlighting.
Diary/Notepad – you can never have enough space for scribbling ideas and thoughts – and I received this notepad as a gift from London! Paperblanks makes a beautiful, semi-secure thought-pad!
I may do a second post of simple mood-lifters! This is not the end!
