One of my favorite houses in Tampa is at 22 Sandpiper Road in the Westshore area. It’s a pretty simple renovation of a 50s ranch house on the waterfront – but its simplicity is what I like. In a decade known for bloated mediterranean mansions squeezed onto lots with no landscaping or yard – this house is a tribute to a previous era. I love the colors and proportions. And in this picture, the grass looks so lush and green. I don’t know what the inside is like, but if the exterior is any clue, it’s clean and classic with a modern twist. Reminds me of Palm Springs a bit.
The neighborhood isn’t my favorite (no sidewalks) – but it does have good access to everything on Westshore and Kennedy Boulevards, and is a 5 minute drive from both of the major Tampa malls. Looks like it is a 3/2, which is the perfect size for a happily married couple starting a domestic life in the sun.
In it, I would put…this gorgeous purple glass-teardrop jellyfish chandelier. A steal from my friend Tona.
