From time to time, I glance across a person and immediately know I am in the presence of good taste. This past Friday night in Ybor that exact thing happened, only it was with this group of foreigners. I guessed Brazilian by the excited hand-waving and gesturing, but then refined to Spanish or Portuguese because of the laid back, casual and polished style.
This is how Americans should dress, once they’re too old for jeans and too young for wheelchairs. The man in the foreground is wearing tailored (or off-the-rack slim fit) tomato chinos with (not seen) tan driving loafers and a white oxford. The woman to his right is wearing a beautiful nude patent Valentino bag and her hair up. The woman in the background, looking quite snub-nosed, is wearing white slacks, a black camisole and light sweater, with matching red leather Gucci bag and Tory Burch slides. Very little jewelry, simple hair and minimal logos. One part of me hopes they coordinated on purpose…the other thinks the group just looks subconsciously cohesive.
I just had to share. Makes me hope more foreigners are buying property in Tampa and boosting its international style cred…
