Sometimes, you fancy yourself a legitimate pre-trender – whether for fashion, interior design, music. You follow blogs and keep your ears to the ground on changing patterns. I used to listen solely to whatever was played on the radio, which, if you haven’t listened to broadcast radio, goes stale quickly. The same set of songs are played over and over…for what encouraging populace I’m not clear.
Over time I’ve discovered varied sources for fresh, soul-feeding music. I am a Pisces, after all. Music is our escape, and who wants to go on the same trip every week? My friends Paul and David are both the type of person you meet who defy your status as ‘on the forefront.’ They live, breathe, and think music, which makes me realize how relatively mainstream I still am. I’ll gladly take a backseat to their encyclopedic knowledge, myriad suggestions, and willingness to be more melodically adventurous, because I get to reap the benefits!
Lately I’ve been talking with David a lot about music, and thought I would put together half a summer playlist (alex), for him to complete (david). They may be different, but they’ll both be good, I assure you.
Kerli: Zero Gravity (Extended)
Mason & Princess Superstar: Perfect Exceeder [Club Mix]
Friendly Fires: Hurting [Tensnake Remix]
Seal: The Right Life
Rusko: Pressure
Calvin Harris: Flashback
Kelis: Bossy feat. Too $hort
Usher: Scream [Seamus Haji Remix]
POP ETC: Hungry Like The Wolf
Justin Bieber: Boyfriend [Dada Life Remix]
New Navy: Zimbabwe
A$AP Rocky: Ridin’ feat. Lana Del Rey
You can download the entire playlist here.

YESSSSSS love the embedded videos
[…] As promised, I arranged for my friend David to contribute his take on the summer playlist. And he did – by going old school. If you grew up in the 90s, you’ll love it. If you didn’t…then you’ll get a thorough schooling. I hope you enjoy it! There’s another download link at the end to get all the songz! Part One is here. […]
