First and foremost, I love supporting a local merchant. Someone you see up close and can form a real emotional connection with. Ask questions, get personal recommendations, smile and lament holiday bustle…
Secondarily, I love a deal. Who doesn’t?
And above all: I deplore crowds. Lines, waiting, shuffling, fumbling and jockeying for position. No thank you, dear.
So: to you I present the Remarqed At-Your-Service guide to shopping local (Saturday November 30th), Black Friday (tomorrow, Friday the 29th), and Cyber Monday (December 2nd).
Shop Local
First, my Google Map of local merchants in Tampa. Most of them are having some deal or event over the next few days. Check my Pinterest page for an overview.
One local deal I will be redeeming: Soho Cycle 20% off all packages for spin class! Woop!
One event I cannot wait for is the Oxford Exchange Gift Bazaar, happening on Sunday the 1st from 10am to 4pm. Twenty local merchants!
Black Friday // Cyber Monday
If you must shop on Black Friday, don’t do it from anywhere other than your couch, snuggled up, with a kitty and warm beverage. Cyber Monday has bled into Black Friday, which have both bled into ‘Gray Thursday’ – which means to you, kindly consumer – that you can shop hassle-free throughout the entire holiday weekend.
Some sales I’ve heard about over the last day or so (via 90+ unread e-mails this morning!)…
MR PORTER – 30% off select items – ends December 2nd
Jack Spade – 75% off select items (Surplus Sale) – must sign up to enter the sale (twerps!)
Fab.com – 30% off sitewide
Saks Fifth Avenue – 60% off select items – ends November 29th (tomorrow)
Neiman Marcus – up to 50% off select items
Nordstrom – 30-50% off select items
West Elm – 25% off everything, other deals as well
Barney’s – 40% off select designers
CB2 – 15% off everything
In conclusion…don’t buy anything full-price. Relax, enjoy family time, and shop local if you can, black friday if you must, and online without fail. Happy hollydaze!
